ART CAMP - A Journey Into Nature

July 8 - 11 from 9:00am - 12:00pm

For a 3rd year, AVA is hosting an Art Camp for youth ages 5 - 12. This year’s camp is July 8 - 11, Monday - Thursday from 9:00am - 12:00pm at Fort Stevens State Park. Projects are all hand-on, inspired by nature and will include various types of printmaking, natural dying, painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Teachers include AVA Education Program Coordinator, Keri Domer, and art teachers Iris Sullivan Daire and Karrin Carlson.

Participation is $100 for the first child, $80 for the second and $70 for the third.

Space is limited to 60 kids. A limited number of scholarship are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To inquire about scholarships, please email astoriavisualarts@gmail.com.

CAMP HISTORY: For the past two years, AVA partnered with a new nonprofit, Art Room, to host these camps. Sadly, the funding that allowed us to hire Art Room through Oregon Community Foundation - Go Kids program is no longer available. We certainly appreciate these type of opportunities that have helped create this program and we’re working to make sure it continues. Without baseline funding, we have to had to make the decision to increase the cost of the camp and cannot offer as many scholarships as we have in past years. We hope to secure grant funding and donations in the future so we can ensure Art Camp and outside-of-school programming is accessible to ALL!
