Jody Miller selected for “My Astoria” award

Astoria Visual Arts and Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa are delighted to announce local artist Jody Miller’s photograph,“Fog on the Columbia,” was selectedfor the 2nd Annual Art Award with the theme “My Astoria.” The winning artwork was chosen from over 20 submissions to represent the rich beauty and iconic history of the Columbia Pacific Region. “Fog on the Columbia” will be displayed in the lobby of the Cannery Pier Hotel beginning in September.

This is the second year the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa has partnered with Astoria Visual Arts to support local artists and connect with Astoria’s rich art scene.

The award-winning artist, Jody Miller, has been living in Astoria for 18 years and focuses on capturing the dynamic beauty of this area. “My camera never leaves my hands for very long and probably never will,” Miller said, “I have been a photographer for almost all of my life. I am so grateful to live in such a vibrant and geographically rich place.”
