Each year in late February, Xtratufs become a common sight in Astoria as venues welcome fisher poets from coast to coast paying homage to the mighty salmon and the commercial fishing industry during the annual FisherPoets Gathering.

Artists also pay homage to our friends with fins at Astoria Visual Arts including Fisherpoets artists who also lend their craft to the visual arts and regional artists working in all media including photography, printmaking, sculpture, carving, ceramics, painting, among others.

“Fish Tales”, the title of the community exhibit, opens during Artwalk on February 10 from noon to 8:00pm and will be on view through March 3.
