July 26 & 27, 2025 11:00am - 5:00pm
Join us in celebrating Astoria’s vibrant creative community during the 15th Annual Astoria Open Studios Tour, July 26 and 27 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Over 50 local artists will open their studios to the public, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at where and how they work. Visitors are invited to explore studios throughout Astoria at their own pace, meeting artists, learning about their inspiration and techniques, and seeing new work up close.
This free, family-friendly event highlights the depth and diversity of Astoria’s thriving art scene. Printed tour guides with artist listings and a studio map will be available at galleries, cafes, and shops across town ahead of the tour. A digital version is also available here.
How to go on the tour: Astoria Open Studios Tour is your very own self-guided adventure. You choose your route and which studios you would like to visit. Each studio is labeled with a number that corresponds with the map. Many studios also have arrows to help guide visitors. Studios offering demonstrations are noted in the guide as well as studios that are accessible for individuals with limited mobility—there are no stairs to navigate to get to the artists’ workspace.
This year’s tour features Astoria’s established artists and some that recently moved to the area. “Open Studios is a great way to meet your creative neighbors”, says AVA Executive Director and Tour Coordinator, Annie Eskelin. “There are so many artists in Astoria. It’s extraordinary to live in town with so many, and more are moving here all the time.”
Many artists will be sharing works-in-progress, offering demonstrations, or showcasing pieces not typically exhibited in galleries.
To get a head start, visitors can stop by the “Artists of Astoria” group exhibit at Astoria Visual Arts, on view July 13 through August 4. The exhibit features work from participating artists and is a great way to plan your tour route.
Astoria Open Studios Tour is presented by Astoria Visual Arts with support from the City of Astoria and AVA members.
