11th Annual Clatsop County Student Art Show

May 10-25, 2025

Astoria Visual Arts is proud to present the 11th annual Clatsop County Student Art Show, a celebration of young creativity from across the region. The exhibition will run May 10 - 25 at the AVA Gallery and features students from Astoria, Knappa, and Warrenton High Schools along with youth attending Astoria Choice Academy, local homeschoolers, and participants in AVA’s Art Room After School program.

Each student created artwork on a 12”x12” wood panel—over 150 panels were distributed. Wood panels were graciously donated by City Lumber in Astoria. The exhibition is juried for cash awards and prizes, highlighting the dedication and talent of these young artists.

Please join us in celebrating these artists and in thanking the art teachers at each school during the opening reception at AVA on May 10 from 12:00 to 8:00pm. Artwork is available for sale for $50 each, with students receiving all proceeds from each sale.

The Clatsop County Student Art Show underscores the vital role of arts education in supporting students’ personal growth, creative expression, and academic success. AVA’s youth education program offers weekly art classes through Art Room After School at Astoria Middle, and at Astoria Choice Academy, along with workshops in local high schools. AVA also coordinates a field trip to Portland for student artists from all participating schools.

The Clatsop County Student Art Show is made possible by AVA members along with the Oregon Community Foundation’s Fred W. Fields Fund and supporters including Fine Art Supply and the Mooney Family. We are also grateful to the program founders, Noel and Patricia Thomas.
